Nutrients to Stop Sleep Apnea

July 18th, 2009

There are some nutrients that may be able to stop sleep apnea such as Resveratrol (for a free trial click here). But you also may choose a standard sleep aid such as SomniemPM (for a free trial click here).

A nutrient is a chemical that an organism needs to live and grow or a substance used in an organism’s metabolism which must be taken in from its environment.Nutrient are the substances that enrich the body. They build and repair tissues, give heat and energy, and regulate body processes. Methods for nutrient intake vary, with animals and protists consuming foods that are digested by an internal digestive system, but most plants ingest nutrients directly from the soil through their roots or from the atmosphere. Some plants, like carnivorous plants, externally digest nutrients from animals, before ingesting them. The effects of nutrients are dose-dependent.

Organic nutrients include carbohydrates, fats, proteins (or their building blocks, amino acids), and vitamins. Inorganic chemical compounds such as dietary minerals, water, and oxygen may also be considered nutrients.[citation needed] A nutrient is essential to an organism if it cannot be synthesized by the organism in sufficient quantities and must be obtained from an external source. Nutrients needed in relatively large quantities are called macronutrients and those needed in relatively small quantities are called micronutrients.

5 Components Of Health Related Fitness

July 18th, 2009

There are really only 5 components to health related fitness:

  1. Proper Breathing

  2. Drinking REAL (alkaline) water

  3. Proper Sleep

  4. Eating REAL food regularly (Blood Sugar Management)

  5. Resistance Training

There’s nothing else you need (aside from cutting out the junk you put into your body!).

A couple of supplements – like Resveratrol – might help. For a free trial: CLICK HERE.

At the time of the creation of the World Health Organization, in 1948, Health was defined as being “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. This definition invited nations to expand the conceptual framework of their health systems beyond issues related to the physical condition of individuals and their diseases, and it motivated us to focus our attention on what we now call social determinants of health. Consequently, WHO challenged political, academic, community, and professional organisations devoted to improving or preserving health to make the scope of their work explicit, including their rationale for allocating resources. This opened the door for public accountability.

Only a handful of publications have focused specifically on the definition of health and its evolution. Some of them highlight its lack of operational value and the problem created by use of the word “complete.” Others declare the definition, which has not been modified since 1948, “simply a bad one.”  More recently, Smith suggested that it is “a ludicrous definition that would leave most of us unhealthy most of the time.”  – That’s probably true!

In 1986, the WHO, in the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion, said that health is “a resource for everyday life, not the objective of living. Health is a positive concept emphasizing social and personal resources, as well as physical capacities.” Classification systems such as the WHO Family of International Classifications , which is composed of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) and the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) also define health.

Overall health is achieved through a combination of physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being, which, together is commonly referred to as the Health Triangle.

online casino slot free sign up bonusA casino is, in the modern sense of the word, a facility that houses and accommodates certain types of gambling activities. Casinos are most commonly built near or combined with hotels, restaurants, retail shopping, cruise ships and other tourist attractions. Some casinos are known for hosting live entertainment events, such as stand-up comedy, concerts, and sporting events.
The precise origin of gambling is unknown. The Chinese recorded the first official account of the practice in 2300 B.C., but it is generally believed that activity of gambling, in some way or another, has been seen in almost every society in history. From the Ancient Greeks and Romans to Napoleon’s France and Elizabethan England, much of history is filled with stories of entertainment based on the games of chance.
One of the first known casinos was established in Venice around 1638.
In American history, early casinos were originally known as saloons. The creation and importance of saloons was greatly influenced by four major cities; New Orleans, St. Louis, Chicago and San Francisco. It was in the saloons that travelers could find people to talk to, drink with, and often gamble with. During the early 20th century in America, gambling became outlawed and banned by state legislation and social reformers of the time. However, in 1931, gambling was legalized throughout the state of Nevada, and Las Vegas, spawned America’s first legalized casinos. New Jersey, allowed gambling in Atlantic City in 1978 which is America’s second largest gambling city. Other regional centers for gaming in the U.S. are Tunica Resorts, Mississippi and in the Gulf Coast region around Biloxi.

UFC 67 Stunner

July 17th, 2009

UFC 67 Stunner: UFC 67 was planned as one of the most star-filled UFC events. It was scheduled to feature welterweight and middleweight title fights as well as the UFC debuts of one-time PRIDE stars Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic. But it turned out that there were no championship bouts. A welterweight title bout between champion Georges St. Pierre and challenger Matt Serra was postponed when St. Pierre injured a knee and was forced to withdraw.

And the main event became a non-title fight when Travis Lutter, who had won the middleweight division in “The Ultimate Fighter 4” to become the challenger to Anderson Silva, failed to make weight.

Lutter inexplicably came in at 187 pounds, two pounds over the limit. He lost only a half-pound after being given another two hours to make weight and thus lost his title shot.

Lutter performed well in the first round becoming one of the few fighters to claim a single round over Silva on the scorecards in his UFC career, but was submitted in the second. Silva slapped on a triangle choke and ended the fight with strikes to the head as Lutter was trying to escape.

Both Jackson and Filipovic won their UFC debuts. Jackson knocked out Marvin Eastman in the second round, avenging an earlier loss. Filipovic defeated Eddie Sanchez, but was not impressive.

Effects of Nitric Oxide on the Body

June 22nd, 2009

One of the effects of nitric oxide on the body is that it increases muscle growth through being a vasodilator, and when taken prior to and after workouts, it enables muscles to receive more blood and therefore, more oxygen and nutrients. This is critical to maximal muscle exertion during training and recovery afterward.
There are several other mechanisms by which nitric oxide has been demonstrated to affect the biology of living cells. These include oxidation of iron containing proteins such as ribonucleotide reductase and aconitase, activation of the soluble guanylate cyclase, ADP ribosylation of proteins, protein sulphhydryl group nitrosylation, and iron regulatory factor activation. NO has been demonstrated to activate NF-κB in peripheral blood mononuclear cells, an important transcription factor in iNOS gene expression in response to inflammation

This is one of the superior nitric oxide products:

Evidence based self help treatment for depression

April 18th, 2009

While a depressed mood is usually referred to (and perceived) as negative, it can sometimes be subtly beneficial in helping a person adapt to circumstances. For example, physical illness, such as influenza, can lead to feelings of psychological malaise and depression that seem, at first, only to compound an already unpleasant situation.

If you are looking for evidence based self help treatment for depression you should first try all natural supplements. For a free trial of one of these supplements click here.

However, the experience of depression, or feeling “down,” often results in physical inertia, which leads to the compulsion to rest. The fleeting helplessness and immobility of the physically ill may also serve to elicit care from others.”

From an evolutionary standpoint, some argue that depression could be at least partially related to atavistic fears that were originally based on real dangers. Paul Keedwell, in his book, How Sadness Survived: The Evolutionary Basis of Depression, suggests that, because “social support and interdependence were important features of the [human] ancestral environment,” “the [peer] group could have offered extra help to the depressed person until the condition resolved.”

Further, “…a depressed person may change the attitudes of other people around him, making them more sympathetic to his needs and therefore giving him a long term [social or reproductive] advantage.”

Milder depression has been associated with what has been called depressive realism, or the “sadder-but-wiser” effect, a view of the world that is relatively undistorted by positive biases.

Weight Loss Program for Men

March 21st, 2009

Weight Loss Program for Mens: Lose 10 or more pounds in a month, and Feel Great while you lose the weight. Unlike other diets, you actually FEEL good while you follow The Zone!

weight-loss-mensWeight loss, in the context of medicine, health or physical fitness, is a reduction of the total body weight, due to a mean loss of fluid, body fat or adipose tissue and/or lean mass, namely bone mineral deposits, muscle, tendon and other connective tissue. It can occur unintentionally due to an underlying disease or can arise from a conscious effort to improve an overweight or obese state. The least intrusive weight loss methods, and those most often recommended by physicians, are adjustments to eating patterns and increased physical activity, generally in the form of exercise. Physicians will usually recommend that their overweight patients combine a reduction of processed and caloric content of the diet with an increase in physical activity.
Other methods of losing weight include use of drugs and supplements that decrease appetite, block fat absorption, or reduce stomach volume. Green tea and hoodia gordonii are often advertised as weight loss supplements. Medicines with herbs such as Fucus vesiculosus are popular. Finally, surgery (i.e. bariatric surgery) may be used in more severe cases to artificially reduce the size of the stomach, thus limiting the intake of food energy.

What is the Definition of Cardiovascular Health

February 26th, 2009

What is the Definition of Cardiovascular Health? When overall fitness is an occupational requirement, as it is for athletes, soldiers, and police and fire personnel, aerobic exercise alone may not provide a well balanced exercise program. In particular, muscular strength, especially upper-body muscular strength, may be neglected. Also, the metabolic pathways involved in anaerobic metabolism (glycolysis and lactic acid fermentation) that generate energy during high intensity, low duration tasks, such as sprinting, are not exercised at peak aerobic exercise levels. Aerobic exercise remains however a valuable component of a balanced exercise program and is good for cardiovascular health but needs to be combined with a healthy diet.

Some persons suffer repetitive stress injuries with some forms of aerobics, and then must choose less injurious, “low-impact” forms of aerobics, or lengthen the gap between bouts of exercise to allow for greater recovery.

Aerobics does not increase the basal metabolic rate as much as some forms of weight-training (which builds muscle mass), and may therefore be less effective at reducing obesity. Further, higher intensity exercise, such as High-intensity interval training (HIIT), increases the resting metabolic rate (RMR) in the 24 hours following high intensity exercise, ultimately burning more calories than lower intensity exercise; low intensity exercise burns more calories during the exercise, but fewer afterwards.

Aerobic activity is also used by individuals with anorexia as a means of suppressing appetite, since aerobic exercise increases sugar and fatty acids in the blood by stimulating tissues to release their energy stores. While there is some support for exercising while hungry as a means of tapping into fat stores, most evidence is equivocal. In addition, performance can be impaired by lack of nutrients, which will reduce training effects.
